I recently bought an '03 F350 SC/LB FX4 6.0Diesel. It appears to be stock. Problem is, it's about 2" too high to fit in the garage. Garage beam overhead is concrete w/lots of rebar so raising that is out of the question. The rear end has 4" blocks, which I can change to 2", that leaves me with the issue on the front end. I realize the front end of the cab will be lowered slightly when I change the rear blocks, but I know I'll probably have to lower the front end about another inch or so. I'm not quite sure how to go about doing this. Also, I've been reading everything I can find on here(FTE), tons of awesome info, just couldn't find anything specifically aimed at lowering the front end. My Pops told me to go with a lo-profile set of marker lights on the roof( may buy me a 1/2"?) but I haven't been able to find any. Are they available anywhere? I've read in several posts that changing the height of the vehicle changes angles on drive shaft and caster/camber. Will this slight change I propose affect these components too? Will stock shock heights be compatible with a lowered chassis or will they need to be updated too?
That's leaf front springs, right? A good spring shop should be able to take the springs apart and rearch them for you to give it some drop. Don't let them take leaves out or it will be too soft. Same for the rear. Watch that you don't get too low, or you'll not have much travel left.
Alternatives would also be smaller tires.
