A friend called to tell me something "new"
He got a call from his brother who has a 99 F350 and said the guys down in his area are talking about running used motor oil (nothing new) in their truck and !!gasoline!! 80-20 split. 80% Used motor oil and 20% gasoline.
He said its about the same BTU. The motor oil.... Ok, I can see that. The gasoline + motor oil on the other hand......... not so much.
Have any of you guys heard of this? Is it something thats been around awhile? Or is he as nuts as Im thinking?

the viscosity is close on ATF and a little gas to thin it some and get the flash point where it needs to be and you have fuel.
if it is centrifugally cleaned it will take all the junk out and you have clean fuel.
MSU tells farms to put ATF in there tractors to help with the new d2 and to help them burn cleaner. and CAT motor supports the use of ATF in there motor also.

I do not do the waste motor oil thing, but my understanding is that the gasoline is added to the WMO to lower the viscosity and to speed the settling of particulates prior to filtering. There's a bunch of folks at TDS's alternative fuel forum that have been doing it for a while. Here's a link to one of their threads on the subject: WMO How to thread - Diesel Forum - TheDieselStop.com

Our trucks can easily handle 20% rug.
I have been running a variety of "chemicals" as fuel since 2003. The umo from my vehicles is one of those chemicals.
I would not run it as 100% fuel. Of course my fuel of choice is vo.
No fuels have damaged my truck though i did replace an uvch a couple of years ago.
