limp mode ?
I have an 06 f-250 4x4 powerstroke, when Im towing my 26ft snowmobile trailer, the truck goes into limp mode every time you go up a steep hill and the transmission downshifts, for 4 or 5 seconds it will go into limp mode,if it downshifts for 1or 2 seconds it wont happen. It does this in tow/haul also..any ideas?

These are just assumptions on my part...but you might check the delta (spread) in degrees between your engine oil temp (EOT) and engine coolant temp (ECT). A couple of the latest flashes when the delta is over 15F between EOT & ECT, the truck will go into limp mode. I'd also check for any stored codes, if the truck is going into limp mode...something is wrong; serous enough the PCM is trying to protect the engine. It could be a bad sensor (let's hope) but you need to get the codes checked. A Scangauge II from AutoZone will set you back $160-ish; but it will pull the codes and show what the delta is.

Truck has no stored codes.when it goes into limp mode if you shut truck off and start it back up its fine untill you go up a hill, this has been happening since i bought the truck in 06,just never towed a big trailer this much till now, asked dealer about several times, when it was under warranty, never got an answer, said it would never do it for them.

If it's going into limp mode then the engine oil temp is getting up around 254*. If you had the newest flash then it would throw a wrench light and store a code. The older flashes probably won't store anything.
I agree with ZHilton. You probably have a large temperature spread between your engine coolant and oil temps and probably a plugged engine oil cooler.
