EGR Delete Advice

Need some advice on an EGR Delete.
I noticed there are several kits available, and want to know the Advantage / Disadvantage of some of them.
A basic kit comes with a coolant redirector and an EGR Valve Block.
The next one up come with an Up-Pipe.
Then others come with intake manifold gaskets.

I plan to replace/rebuild my Oil cooler as well.
Should I rebuild it with an OEM Gasket kit, replace it with an OEM Oil Cooler, or an Aftermarket Cooler since I am doing the delete?
Also I noticed that 99% of the kits do not include the Oil Cooler Upper, is this not a part a should worry about during the Oil Cooler Rebuild/Replace?

In case your wondering, this is the second EGR Cooler to fail on the truck. It failed once in warranty at 53k, and now again at 106k, so I do not want to replace it again at 159k, etc...

EGR Delete tips

I havn't done the oil cooler dive into the motor yet but I can help with the EGR delete.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...tion-tips.html

One thing I forgot in the write up was make sure to get the turbo oil drain line reinstalled before remounting the turbo. Pain in the a$$ to lift turbo back out. It's at arms length and heavy.
Good luck. A write up on how the oil cooler change-out went would be appreciated.

Whats the advantage of doing a complete delete like you did, versus just an EGR Block and coolant redirect?

my plan is to go with the BPD unit oil cooler that redirects the oil to a condensor on the front of the motor, it eliminates the need to ever worry about deltas again, there is always a chance that you replace your oil cooler and only to find the deltas are still bad, that would be my luck, and I am not gonna tear into mine twice for the same thing. conscensus is that the egr is not the culprit for the 6.0's issues, it is only the bearer of bad news about the oil cooler upstream from him, but i hate egr systems as principle, along with ccv systems and pretty much all emission related equipment for that matter. so mine is getting the welded unit as well it is pricey but i am willing to spend as long as it eliminates the delta issues

I went with the sinistewr full egr deleate kit
Bolted right up no issues fit like a glove
there are cheaper kits now that look the same

I gained 1-2 mpg since the egr deleate
made a diffrece to not recycle hot spent air back in
plus my intake&sensors is alot cleaner

The only thing I didnt like about the EGR Deleate is I had an awesome Turbo Whistle B4 now not so much

I used the RCD kit off of Ebay. Reasonably priced and worked well. You can buy and OEM oil cooler rebuild kit. Will save you a few bucks over purchasing a new cooler. One of the keys to preventing the oil cooler from clogging is coolant filtration. Dieselsite offers a nice kit for that or there are plenty on here who have homemade there coolant filters. You can probably search to find a write up.

Man I WISH I did

I have a 4 inch exhaust out of the turbo back no cat preformance muffler and it ssounded AWESOME B4 the egr deleate I could hear that truck whistling a block away coming up the hill to my house but not anymore
It was one of the best sounding whistles out there seems like all 6.0 have a little whistle but not like this one did I only saw 1 other truck in the 6 years Iv had it that whistled like mine did

The whistle is still there but not as good as it was B4
I changed the uppipe out with that egr deleate kit and I think thats what did it
Should have just welded plugs into the EGR cooler and left the uppipe alone but if I ever needed to put the egr system back on I didnt want it jacked up I guess I could drill plugs out and HOPE the Drill Bit doesnt catch and suck clear into the guts of the cooler

My wife tells me I ruined the truck and that I should change it back IDK I get Better fuel milage now dont know what to do

I like the idea of a EGR delete to stop the chance of a cracked EGR cooler and to stop flowing hot used gasses into the motor. I got my kit from Riffraff Diesel priced good and very fast shipping. Riffraff Diesel: Sinister EGR Valve / Cooler Delete
