GP tip in head.....

Should i pull? or try and push it through the exuast valve. or should i pull the injector, and push the tip through and catch it with the magnet through the injector port? any ideas?

Do a search for this problem at the top of page. Lots of good info. Pulling the injector and useing a vacuum to suck it out of the pre chamber seems to work sometimes. Good luck on getting it out.

Is the tip stuck in the hole it goes into or is it loose in the swirl chamber?

Or has it fallen out of the chamber?

The very first thing to do is get that cylinder to top dead center. You will need an attachment on the vacuum that will fit in the injector hole. The idea is for the tip to fall into the precup and suck it out from there. If you do a search at the top of this page for removal of broken glow plugs you should find step by step instruction from someone that has done this." Read up first" is my suggestion. Good luck.

With one loose in the hole, I have read about people covering that side of the engine with something like carpet and start the engine and blow that sucker out.

You can also modify a.compression tester to put an airchuck on and blow the tip out the gp hole.

if you have no luck with the vacuum try this magnet
Day Air, Magnets Pick Up Tools, Side Delivery, Business Days | Toolfetch
it will fit right in the injector hole and pick up the tip. I warn you I only tested this with a spare head intentionally cut off GP tip, it worked flawlessly in my test. fortunately for me I ended up not breaking any tips when I removed my champion gps, so i never had a "real world" test but I'll stand behind it and its defiantly worth doing before removing the heads if the vacuum doesn't work. hope all goes well

give it a shot I really hope it works and my test can be validated with a really world save. I think it could save a lot of guy a lot of time and money. also still bring the cylinder to TDC just to be safe, better safe then sorry

Text from the OP: "I have a 6.9. The whole gp total is like 3.5inches... Im tring to drill out this old one that was broke off by the PO. I grinded it flush and gor a small hole. No where near close enough to easy out which is my plan and it chewed up bits and took alot of work. I started going at it with a punch. It pushed the tip down twords the head little by little... If i putposely push it through to the head will i be able to use a magnet to get it out of the injector hole if its that long? like will it have enough room to line up with the hole? i did this on the other side when i dropped the tip in but that was about an inch or a bit more, This is more like 2inches.

I think ima punch the gp tip through the threaded sleeve of the gp and fish it outta the Inj port.. Think itl work?"

He doesn't have Internet at the moment, any replys I'll text it to him

I am lost here, if you have two inches of gp it should be sticking out to where you gan get a hold on it. Did you twist off the nut on the gp.
