t case shift motor

Can anyonefill me in on how to replace the shift motor on a 05 f250. I got as far as removing the torx screws which I thought held the motor in but I was wrong it was just the housing to the motor. Anything would be helpful. Reason changing is that all fuses are good and no light on dash. Cannot hear the motor trying to shift at all.

Ok that didn't work ckd relays and fuses again and no luck. I might replace both shift relays and go from there. Other than that sounds like I might be leaning towards the 4x4 module. I know its behind the glove box but seems to be two different modules. On e on top of hvac ducting and on the upper righthand corner which is long and slender. Also where can I find a replacement module for this. I hate throwing parts at this but can't find a solid way of diagnosing this. winter is coming and surely don't want to pay dealer $$$ when I can do it myself. I've tried searching for a module but can't find anywhere to purchase this.

Ok I found it at the ford dealer. No luck finding anything aftermarket. I sure hope this does the trick. Any other thoughts before I purchase this?

Well your most likely problem is the actual 4x4 shift motor, there are 3 10mm bolts holding it on the side of the transfer case. If you can get away with it do this. Get a new shift motor and before you even pull the old one just hook up the two plugs that make it work and let it hang there, tehn get in the truck turn on the key and shift it in and out of 4x4. If the 4x4 motor was your problem the lights will work like they are supposed to and you will hear the motor working.
