Got a HPX from RiffRaff diesel a couple weeks ago. Haven't put it on yet. I was looking at it and the motor the other day and was wondering how the air gets outta the tube? Does it work it's way out eventually? Run like crap for a few miles?
I was thinking of all kinds of ingenious ways to fill it with oil and try to put it on... lol not gonna happen.
YMMV, but mine didn't run rough at all. It took slightly longer to fire it up after the installation, but it ran totally normally after that. I've heard people say their trucks run rough for a few miles after the installation, though. I think it's mostly luck.
Does it make a noticeable difference in performance?
I did not notice any difference in performance with the exception a smoother idle. This was confirmed by watching ICP pressure and there was much less variation ... before ± 75 PSI and after ± 25 PSI. I had no difference in crank time or performance after install.

Noticeable NO.
