Question Is it possible to siphon the fuel tank?

Hey guys,
It's a long story, but I'm curious is it possible to siphon from these tanks? Here's the background:

RV.Net Open Roads Forum: I think my (diesel) truck was siphoned on an overnighter

Fairly sure I had some fuel stolen, but it's all circumstantial...

Yes, it is easy to siphon fuel from our tanks. If you want to guard against it, I would get a locking cap.

yep. buddy had his fuel siphoned when it was @ $5/gallon. he ran out and got a locking fuel cap.

a few days later, he found the tank empty again. they punched a hole in it to get the diesel out.

Here are my thoughts on a locking cap, and they are just my opinion. I'm not doing it. If a friggin thief wants my fuel he will get it with or without a locking cap. I would rather he didn't destroy something on the fuel system and just take it. Is it a deterrent? Sure and he might just go away, but . . .
Have a great day

The locking caps are a joke. I bought a 95 gasser, got it home and realized crap the PO never gavr me a key, I hammered a 1/4" flathead into the key hole turned the screwdriver and preso the cap came off. It took me less than ten seconds to do this. Your better off installing an antisiphon spring.

I would say if you live where the scum bags have several options (other trucks) go with the locking cap they will not take the time to bother when easier fuel is next door BUT if you are located like our vehicle compound out of the way and the "only gas station in town" they will and have stopped at nothing to get our fuel...

A locking gas cap is not an anti theft guarantee. It would slow down a thief that has plenty of other targets available in a campground or other area where diesel trucks would gather. They are ****** and grab opportunist that want nothing to slow them down. Just my two cents.

I'm not so much worried about a thief stealing my fuel, but someone intentionally pouring something else down my fuel tank to cuase harm out of spite.

I have that locking fuel cap. I love it. Never had fuel siphoned, and now I never will.

Trey, never say never. If they want it they will just punch a hole in the bottom of your tank. Prolly takes longer to get the cap off.

I said I'll never have it siphoned. I might still have fuel drained though. But it would be more difficult because I have a fuel tank skid plate. But it could still be done.
