I have an '03 F-350 with a 6.0L turbo diesel. For the past two weeks I have noticed that after it is started when cold it runs a little rough and sometimes seem to miss a bit. I have a Superchips tuner which I always run in the economy tow mode. It also will read and clear the DTCs. Each time I had had the above described incident happen I have checked for codes and I get a code P2285 and it says "Injector control circuit sensor low". The rough running goes away after a minute or two when it warms up and it performs fine. As long as it is warm and I start it there is now problem and no code. I am wondering if this is actually coused by a bad sensor or there is some other problem developing. I would rather investigate this myself as opposed to going to the local Ford dealer that just hooks up their equipment, reads the same code and then starts throwing parts at it at exorbitant prices and without results. I had enough of their treatment when it was in warranty and they blundered along trying to figure everything out on Ford's dime. I have to think it has to be something in sensor and control circuitry as opposed to a serious mechanical problem simply because it goes away when warmed up. I am also curious to know if anyone has had these sensors go bad.I just returned from a 1,500 mile round trip pulling about 9,000# trailer and load through a lot of mountain Interstate highways. The trruck performed as good as ever out on the road for hours on end. I had thought maybe the trip would blow out the cobwebs so to speak but it is still acting the same. there seems to be no other problems or codes developing. I would also be interested in hearing from anybody who has had this problem and if so what was done to fix it.
