Sticking Gas Pedal

My 90 5.0 efi was brought to the mechanics shop to get the rear tank recall thing fixed and get a new tank. When I got it back, the pedal only sinks an inch or so which gives almost no acceleration. Then I have a lot of resistance getting it to the floor. When I get it to the floor, the engine revs and the gas pedal gets stuck. It comes up after 2 or 3 seconds or so but this is dangerous. Please help.

I think I would take it back to the shop that did the work on it and let them look at it.. If it was OK before they may have had something loose and reconnected it wrong...

Sometimes when a mechanic works on that engine they support they weight against the top of the throttle body (the black cap), this happened to me once and my pedal got stuck when my mother was driving the truck... fortunately the truck was on a step climb (going up) so she had time to turn the engine off.

I have a '90 5.0 as well. What's the deal with this recall?

the unused gas in the return line can go to the wrong tank possibly overflowing it.

Used 1990 Ford F-150 Recalls - 1990 Ford F150 Recall Reports - Motor Trend Magazine

it says F150 but in the description on one it mentions vehicles with the 7.5l engine so my '90 F250 might be affected also but I just got the thing 2 weeks ago so maybe somebody had it fixed
