Heres the story... I got stuck while wheeling and I was heavy on the gas pedal.
Problem... first few inches are loose and it doesnt engage at all till I go harder on the gas and if I wanna cruise over 50 and make it downshift to switch lanes and accelerate quicker I gotta put the pedal to the floor (literally)
Any ideas? Im thinking I gotta adjust the throttle wire but I came here first.
I had the same problem with after market petals with petal travel and comfort. I made up a new *** out of 5/16 stainless rod and it works really well for me.

Here’s what I used in a 40 Buick and 52 F1.Went to upull it and got 2 hanging throttle pedals from an early 90s Chev Astrovan. 3 hole mounting and one for a Lokar cable. Put the pivot point for the pedal at the ball of my foot. Cable hookup took minor fabbing. Works great,the throttle action is linear and it’s small and out of the way.

I like the setup. How is the pedal operation? Does the stainless steel rod slide smoothly on the backside of the pedal?
The pivot point has a delrin bushing I made. Delrin is kind of a slippery plastic. Operates pretty smooth. I miss read your question, yes it really doesn't move up and down the petal as much as you would think about a quarter of an inch.
