I assume your rig is a 69. "MP" is the color code denoting a two-tone scheme. M is for Wimbledon White and P is Boxwood Green Metallic... not a popular color so your local paint jobber (where the pros go for paint & supplies) is likely your only source. Have'em mix a small batch with no hardener and then catalyze your own.

What says scandia green? Fordification's 1968 page? I didn't see a two-tone reference nor a code for P on the page. 69 has it though - Odd that it decodes on the 1969 page.

It's getting late in the year to paint and it looks like you live amongst conifers (pines, redwoods, etc). Ya'd better do your research over the winter and do it next year. BUT, are the electrical, fuel, ignition, and mechanical systems up to snuff? Ya really oughtta work on those first before worrying how it looks. I think it looks good already but I can't see the other side. Nice rig - the color combo looks good on it. I might have to go that route when the time comes.

Painting... gazillions of articles have been written on it and there are tons of resources on the web and better than we in FTE can write up. Besides, it would basically require a dissertation and this ain't the place for one. Hit up CarCraft, Hot Rod, or most any other magazine's website and search "bodywork" and "paint".

Yes its my daily driver for a year so its good there as for painting it would be next year. And that is weird about fordification. And I would be keeping the same color for sure just a repaint on the outside.just keeping it simple. Makes me think if it was a special order

The OP's truck is a 1968: F26YRD20398: F26 = F250 4WD / Y = 360 2V / R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant / D20398 = 1968, assembled April 1968.

1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog / Paint Section ~ Page 5

P (1968/70): MEDIUM IVY GREEN / Original TUP: 3 oz can w/brush: AE60-3150-A / 5 oz spray can: AE60-3150-S // one quart can: M1J-3150

Paint colors can be confusing because there are TWO different names for the same color: Promotional name used in sales brochures, actual color as listed in Ford: parts catalogs, paint chip charts.

Automotive paint supply stores paint chip charts may show either.

Some years, the codes were different, but the name of the colors were not / 1971: K = MEDIUM IVY GREEN / 1972: K (Econoline only) = MEDIUM IVY GREEN / Same part numbers as above.

Passenger Cars (includes 1966/79 Bronco's) may use the same paint codes for the same color/year as the trucks, or may not. And, the more expensive the vehicle, the "fancier" the Promotional name.

1965/72 Ford Passenger Car Parts Catalog / Paint Section ~ Page 8

P (1967/68 Thunderbird): Pewter Metallic / P (1968/70 Bronco): MEDIUM IVY GREEN (same as above) / P (1970 except Bronco): Medium Ivy Green Metallic (not the same as above).

P (1971): Medium Ivy Metallic (not the same as Medium Ivy Green Metallic).
