Everyone...I am tired of replacing my Ford HUBS on my 1999 F250. I am on my 3rd set of them and I have given up on the Ford brand of HUBS not holding up. I can't freely turn them without having tools or pliers they are so tuff and the vacumm seals suck and wont auto engage either.
I am thinking of just doing away with them and replacing them with some other brand...WARN is one of those. Does anyone recommend against the WARN product or is there another brand of replacements that I can use that you would recommend.
I did that same thing about 10 yrs ago. the Warn are still working fine. Just have to get out to switch em. But there is no more hanging in the engage mode on one side or the other and there is no OH SH-- I am stuck because the auto hub did not engage.
I put on my Warn hubs 5 years ago and never a problem smooth operation everytime I needed them. I twist the hubs in at least a couple times a month just because I use 4wd that much. But I have never had an issue. Best part is they are built 10 minutes from home if there ever is an issue with them.
Mile Marker were half the price of Warns when I was in the market to get them. No problems, work like a charm. FYI if you go that route you do not need the adapter kit they will try to sell.
After removing the ESOF hubs you no longer need vacuum lines to the hubs. You can either remove the vacuum lines from the hub and plug the holes, or re-route the vacuum lines under the hood and leave the lines there.
You mentioned adapter kit. I guess the WARN units are not "out with old in with new WARN" hubs which is why you have to have an adapter kit?
How was the install on the Mile Marker hubs?
Thanks!!! RC

No adapter kit needed for my warn premiums. From what I could figure from the documentation the adapter kit is for the OBS trucks. I'm not absolutely sure about that though.
Took me 5-10 min to install the MileMarkers. I'm happy with them, but they aren't as easy to grab/turn as Warns. No kit needed. Summit Racing had a sale on the MileMarkers, so don't pay too much, where ever you decide to get them. Look for some '05+ front wheel hubcabs that are shallower and look better and make it easier to turn the hubs.
