Time for an intro

I figured after lurking around for a few weeks it's time for an intro from Molalla, Oregon. I just recently (4 weeks ago) purchased a 2000 F-350 4x4 CC LB 5.4L w/ 35K miles on it. As I have 1k left before the factory warranty is up I've been searching this site for items that might need attention. All I can say is thanks to everyone! I've had to take my rig in twice already for a couple items (heater fan motor and tun signal/wiper module). I plan on getting it back in the next week or two for the "exhaust flutter" from the exhaust "Y" and I just snapped one side of my tailgate handle this afternoon. About the only other issue is I just noticed this AM the nice little knock when first starting it. Uh, piston slap? From what I've read that was pretty much a problem with '99 models? No problems with pulling to one side when heavy breaking either (showed a co-worker how ABS works!) I did purchase the extended warranty as well but hopefully I will never need to use it.
This truck will be my commuter, hunting, fishing, & hauling whatever is needed truck. The reason for a crew is cause my wife made me. Need more room for the two kids. But hey, who's going to argue when the wife say's "Honey, you need to buy a bigger truck". Lord, I love that woman!
Anyway thanks again for all the info I received in this last two weeks and I'm sure I'll be posting again!

Regards,
Jeff

Thumbs up Time for an intro

Welcome. I am also a fairly new user. You did luck out with the wife. It took me about a year to talk mine into the ok. How did the extended warrenty work for you? Was it through the dealership or on your own?

Welcome! Glad to have you around!

There are a lot of nice guys/gals around here and I'm sure you'll fit right in. There is an incredible amount of information around the boards. There are a lot of them, so in order to keep everything organized make sure you're in the right spot when making threads. My first month or so took some getting used to. Also, there are some nice links on the right with more features of the site. I'm sure I'll see ya around!

Have a great day!

I went with the factory extended 75K warranty. Hopefully I won't need to use it once all the initial problems I have found are fixed but I figured better safe than sorry since I plan on having this truck around for a long time!
