The studs are 3/8". There is a co. called truckmebluedotcom who sells stud kits. I guess they come with thick and thin washers and crimp nuts, all grade 8.
ARP products are always top notch, unquestionably. But bolts have a tendency to work loose, especially with headers. However, there are a couple of bolt 'systems' around that have a locking gismo to prevent them from loosening. Grade 8 makes one, available through Summit Racing for about $55.
Studs hold up much better w/o loosening. You can make up a kit yourself if you want.
I have not used my stud kit from truckmebluedotcom yet but I can appreciate the advice given by F-250 restorer on studs vs. bolts loosening up. If with the stud kit you still worry about them loosening up you could drill the stud and wire them to keep the locking nut from backing out. I do not think that would be necessary after speaking to the owner of truckmebluedotcom when I ordered mine. He said they hold very well and he has used them for a couple of years without any issues of loosening or leaks of any kind. Also the studs should act as "hangers" for what ever manifold combination you have making it easier to reassemble them to the block. Mine were about 2x the bolt set you linked to. I just got them a week or so ago. I noticed the kit you linked shows the length at 0.750". Make sure you check the flange thickness on whatever manifolds you use. These ones, Milodon 84543, under similar items in your link are 1".
Does anyone know what the intake and exhaust stud size is or recommend which studs i should get?
I have a brand new, never used set of 'Grade 8' header bolt kit sitting in my garage. It is the 'locking system' they advertise on Summit Racing for over $50. It is never used. I'll sell it to you for $35, including postage. PM me if interested.
I think you're a new member, so you can't send/receive private messages. email me: bobby@mywaybooks.com Or you can just paypal that $35, to that email, and I'll put them in the mail to you. They are 12 point heads, so you need to look at that type on the Summit Racing site and be sure you can use them. You may have to buy a special socket for them.
Yes they fit the 300. They are made for a 300. The head that you put a wrench on is the torx head, you know, the star type, so you have to buy a special socket to fit. Like I said before: "Go to Summit Racing dot com and look it up."
Listen, if you want to save $ and still get it done, then go to j/y and pull the oem bolts off a 300. That would be your best bet.
