It's funny how the reps hit. I repped Gerry yesterday I think and he said it was a 17 pointer. I've been here since '05 and I guess between that and my post count, I'm up to 17 now. But Steve's post count is almost 100,000 now and he's hitting with more points than Admins do and he's been here less time than me and Joe.

You and I both joined in October 2005...you have 2.5 times the posts I do...so it makes sense you hit with 2 more points than I do...
But I'm not sure it is linear...Steve with a gazillion posts but less time on the boards hits with a HUGE hammer...a little more than twice what I do and less than twice yours...interesting to say the least!...post count must have a big effect on reps given...given that you and I joined in the same month I mean...
all I know is we just keep sharing and all will be good!
I'm serious about "honing" each of our lists down to those of us actively playing this game...I mean how many peeps on everyones lists DON'T reciprocate frequently?...those folks need to come off so we can focus our hits on each other and help each other make the climb to the top...let's populate the top page with all of us that play this game with vigor!...just a suggestion...I have been culling peeps off my list pretty quickly...focusing on the frequent contributors!!!

Works for me. I repped one member 5 times in March and only got 1 in return and none in April so he is coming off the list.

That's definitely part of it Rick. I also know that your join date factors in as well. Weird as it may seem, I've gotten reps from folks here that joined in '99, '00, and '01 whose post counts were relatively low and who had only a couple of greenies and got more points from them than newer folks with more Greenbeans.
It's a strange system and I can't help but think that the guy (s) who invented it are kicking back and laughing knowing that all of us are trying to figure out how the damn thing works.

I hand them out in the tech forums I moderate because there a lot of folks in them that really help out a lot and their efforts go unnoticed and unappreciated at times IMO.

Now that we all have lists...we can hone down our lists to those of us regulars and really make this game sing!!!...
I have never been concerned about giving reps to those above me for fear I won't catch them...if folks have that hang up...those above you will stop giving you reps too...LOL...not saying anyone in particular or anyone at all has that hang up...keep spreading in the "group" and it all goes around!
