Hey all, new truck I bought has this sticker on the back. I did a search for DZL and all I come up with is a webpage for DZLjims.... but can't even find a link to info about injectors there. Does anyone know about the company? any good? The truck also has a banks sidewinder kit and water/meth injection.
DZL Jim builds injectors for the 7.3 strokes. Rosewood Diesel Shop is his business. I don't know if he builds injectors for our trucks, but he is highly thought of over in the OBS stroke forum.
Thanks. I have Googled and Googled and dzljims is all I come up with as well. I'm going to have to look it over a little more or contact the previouse owner and see if I can dig some more info up.
I just bought this one about a week ago now. Sight unseen. I am working out of state and just told my wife to go pick it up! It's a 1986 with a 7.3 out of a '93. Picked it up for $4500, which I think is a steal! I haven't even gotten to see it in person yet.... Next Tuesday!!
Thanks everyone! I'm pretty excited about it. The engine "supposedly" only has 60k on it.... and the PO said that he had over 20k in to the truck.... seems like a lot, but between all the interior work, lift, tires/wheels, paint, etc stuff does add up. Especially if you're paying someone else to do it!

Nope, not 100%. Like i said, I haven't even gotten to see it yet!
Sweet truck.
If its a 6.9 he is better off anyway. I still want a 87 6.9 maybe i'll find one someday.
Thanks. I actually have one of those as well Not near as nice of shape, but it's been a great truck. Will probably get used a little less now. Hunting, firewood and dump runs....

I notice it has a serp belt setup and what looks to be a 3G alternator. Seems like the PO really invested some time and money into it, hard telling what its got. Definitely a nice truck, wheels are a little big, but a nice truck. I really like the color on it.
cant wait to get home and have the wife say that AAA wont tow you anymore at least she checked to see if the motor was in there lol nice truck though
as most havnt heard of the injectors id suspect they are older and gettign worn out
Might ask the PO. I assume since it is a diesel shop that perhaps they ordered injectors through them or had some rebuilt, and they sent the stickers with the order, or they were asked for. Just a possibility.

Nice catch! I hadn't even noticed the serp belt setup or 3g! I'm soooo stoked to get home and really look this thing over! The PO "supposedly" had over $20k in to it.... which I could maybe believe if he was paying someone else to do everything. Paint, interior, lift, engine swap, engine mods, tires/wheels etc. The paint and engine were done 5 years ago. They said it had about 60k on the engine.... I would agree on the wheels, maybe even a little fancy for my taste, but I'm sure not complaining for the price!

Actually had a friend go with her to pick it up. She drove it 2 1/2 hours home. Said it ran great.
All I can say about this truck is add a custom bumper with winch and a toolbox and this is my dream truck
I'm hoping to build a bumper over the winter... we'll see. Haven't decided about a tool box yet. It has a tauneau cover (roll up) right now... time will tell I guess. And this one will probably see very little serious offroading so I don't know about a winch yet either. That's why I'm keeping the '87 around.
I have also been thinking about swapping the trans between the two. Put the 4spd out of the blue one in the black truck and the zf in the blue one.... decisions decisions.... I guess I should at least drive it first
