I was driving the truck when it seemed like it was about to stall. It came back to life and though that mayb a piece of sediment went through the line. I parked it and left for college in my other car. When my dad went to move it, it started but stalled on him. He started it again but it stalled and now it just turns over. I am getting fuel to the fuel bowl and the truck will run for .5 seconds on diesel staring fluid. The tack moves as i am cranking it over and it had the cps replaced about 2 years ago. I'm thinking hpop pump. Any Ideas??????
Ill be going home this weekend.
I was planning on checking the oil level for the HPOP pump.
I was also wondering if this could be caused by a bad connection with the TPS 6 position switch. The truck is 3 hrs away from me at this point. The only thing i have tried so far is making sure its getting fuel to the fuel bowl
starting fluid a big no no, use a rag soaked in diesel and place it over the intake.(secure it well) obviously its not getting fuel if it starts on sf but not on its own.
so im home for the weekend. I tried to start it with the icp sensor unplugged and still nothing. how much should the tach move while starting. Mine barly registers. it is registering way under 250 rpm. any more ideas?
Are the batts fully charged? Does it seem to be spinning at full speed or is it sluggish acting?
I have one battery being jumped from one car and have a 200 amp battery charger/jump box on the other battery. The motor seems to be turning over like it always has.
Also just because you changed the CPS two years ago don't mean it can't be bad. I had to replace mine about three times before I got it right. Two from a dealer and one from a local supply store. Just a thought.
