What could it be?

Hi Guys,
Our 1950 F1 is slowly coming together. We did something different to the dash & I was wondering if anyone could guess what it is? Just for fun.

No Merc - the slots cut into the dash a little further over.

I sure wish I had a more elegant looking solution to A/C -
mine is huge. Not sure what can be done about it - the blower has to go somewhere.

Hey Tyler,
They came out of an old Saab. Did you ever decide for sure what engine you had?

Love it! Great accessory Ben. You don't want to carry that hot Mickey D's coffee between your legs. I'm also eyeballin' the recessed gauge panel. Sweet! Are those autometer ford masterpiece?

Thanks Jon,
The recessed gauge panel was out of necessity. We were starting with a pretty hacked up dash. The Gauges are actually from Ford - some classic line they had.

The A/T shift quadrant looks like the one used on 1951/54 Hudson's with single range 4 speed Hydra-Matic: N D L R

I've always liked those gauges. They're made by Auto Meter for Ford, and they're still available from either source, as well as any number of aftermarket parts dealers. Auto Meter makes a similar set for Chevrolet, too, fyi. I think that's some nice work on the custom dash. I've thought recessing the gauges like that might eliminate the glare from the dash lights on the windshield at night.

Ben, the dash is really looking nice. Great idea with the cup holders. Truck is really starting to come along. I am now motivated to go work in the garage.
