I looked at that permatex and was thinking of using it but it said it was silicone with adhesive and I’m afraid I won’t be able to get the light off again if it leaks again within out damaging the paint due to the adhesive. I’m curious did you use it and did it work. Because I’m about to fix my 09 F150 King Ranch tomorrow. For like the 3rd time.

Ford has updated the part. There's a better gasket. It would be better to just install the new, updated part with the better gasket.
Use Ford's website. Use your VIN. Get the exact, correct part number for your truck.
