help with mirrors

i need help finding a side rear view mirror.the bolt pattern on the door are about five inches apart.all the one ones i have seen are about eight inches apart.the po must have changed the curb side door at sometime cause the bolt pattern is different from the drivers side.is there anyway to find out what year the door he changed came from?the driver side bolt patterns are 1 inch down from the window and 1 up from the dent and the curb side patterns are 3 inch down from the window and 1 inch up from the dent.i have searched all the local junk yards with no luck.

Like they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. At least now we understand your dilemma. I recall seeing a rig recently in this forum with the Type 7 in his avatar. Maybe PM him and see if he can verify dimensions for ya.

Btw, I picked up a set of Type 2 mirrors from the JY.. its got cracked glass but the stainless steel is cherry. I taped up the cracked glass so i can take it to a shop and have new mirrors cut.

Lift? Sure I can probably comment on that. I'm here to help and learn. I know I don't know everything but I try to learn from everybody.... just read over in the Bumpside forum how to replace 2WD radius arm bushings by pulling the front suspension forward with a come-along. Totally shadetree but it freakin' works.

Do your homework and shoot me a PM when yer ready and we'll coordinate... !

Hey collinft,

Here's an image of what looks to be Type 7 mirrors. The kid just got the rig, posted on FTE, and is gonna tear into it and drop in a Mopar powerplant. Maybe he can shoot you some measurements or the actual mirror if it is the correct one. By your description however, the mounting locations appear to be the same as the Type 9 mirrors.
