steering pitman arm

I'm stripping a '76 F150 and I want to disconnect the whole front end and stash it in the garage. Everything's loose except where the steering gear box connects to the idler arms and so forth. I sprayed some penetrating fluid on the spline end of the pitman arm and pounded on it with a hammer (not too hard). I'm wondering if I need a puller to remove it. I'm trying to not damage anything in case I want to sell it later.

Yes you do, preferably a quality heavy duty puller, the cheapie pullers e.g. Harbor Freight, tend to just strip the threads and/or break when put up against a stubborn pitman arm.
