I just got done on a two week hunt in Colorado. Driving through Southern Utah going up some pretty good hills I could only hit 16psi on the boost gauge? I was pulling a tandem axle 7X16' trailer with a Rhino on it. Two of us in the truck and the bed full of coolers. Plenty of weight. What are normal levels? I thought it should be a bit higher than that. I was able to keep speeds above 70 though.
I have the 6637 intake, Hypermax intercooler, downpipe and old "gold" superchips chip.
Yea that sounds a little low. With what's in my sig I can hit 22-24psi. You might want to check formboost leaks and unplug the electrical connection on the MAP sensor and see if it runs better on amgood run also check the fuel pressure
Checked all the boots on the IC and couldnt find any leaks. Everything around the turbo looks good too??? I'll have to check the fuel pressure later. What should it be at?
my truck is inner cooled and when its stock no programmer i can barely hit 15psi and i did a smoke leak test checked all ic boots everything cant find a leak but my egts get hot i dont know if its the gauge or what i can hit 1100 going up a steep pass at 70
Check your up pipes, thats where mine are leaking. Get under the truck and look up at them, if they are leaking there will be some soot on them around where they connect up. thats where mine are leaking from, and leaking bad, im getting only 10 LBS at most!!! And seeing as how i bought it like that ive yet to experience the real get up and go
I had leaks all over the place on my manifolds and up-pipes. Everything between the block and the turbo has been replaced with new parts and I have a DP-tuner with the 60e tune. I get a bout 4 PSI @ 65 MPH on level road and up to 30 PSI when I'm passing. I haven't towed yet with the 80T tune (boating season is done here) so I'm not sure where the boost would settle under different conditions.

That's nothing, I would say your doing good. I can bury my gauge and I have IC and water injection. I have bellow up pipes so there are no leaks. I've also done the Travis leak test, no leaks.
I was more or less referring to exhaust leaks before the turbo.
but it is important to watch for them in your IC system.
Also around the manifolds where it goes into the motor as well, a little leak there can be a HUGE boost robber.
Don't need WOP to make big boost either.
I don't at least.
And yes, the SD's have bigger injectors, so just ignore his comment. =) he's being a smartass.
