Suspension Help

2003 Excursion Eddie Bauer 6.8L V10 4x4. Looking to improve ride.
Read a few post about shocks and v code modification. Called a few shops around town and none have heard about such mods.

This vehicle is a daily driver. At this time not towing but possibly in the future. Some off road, dirt trails, etc..

Current tires are BFG 285/75/16 All terrain at 56PSI

I am looking to improve ride quality dramatically but don't want to lift too high to where the tires are going to look too small. They are brand new and not looking to spend more $$$ on tires at this time.

Where do I find the leaf springs and all the parts necessary to get this done?
What Shocks? Rancho? Billstein? Other? and why?

How can I find a shop in Arizona that will know what I am trying to do?

Thanks for any help.

Same year/options - all I did was change shocks over to the Rancho 9000's. I currently have them set to 1 front and 2 rear and the ride is good for a daily driver as well as towing the boat. I thought about changing over the springs as well but my springs actually have decent travel and I decided against the change. I'm running my tires at 65psi front/rear and am very happy with the ride and the tire wear.

How much room are you supposed to have to the bump stop. I have approx 1" 1/4. If that is fine, I will only do the rancho's for now. What about the steering stabilizer? Is it worth having? and what about the my ride wireless controller?

Here's a pic of my Dad's truck with 285s and V codes up front. He left the rear stock for now. The rear isn't as low as it looks in the pics.

Where do you get the V codes from?

Where can you take it to for installation?

After V codes are in, do you need the longer rancho's for the 4" lift or the regular rancho's are OK?

Ho much clearance are you supposed to have to the bump stop? I have 1"1/4. Is that normal on an 03 ex Eddie Bauer 4x4 V10?
