shocks

hi everyone, i recently bought my wife a mint 1993 full size bronco and retired her 1991 f-150 4x4. i just put new shocks in the f150 a couple months ago and the bronco needs new ones.

i already swapped the new fronts from the truck to the bronco but the part numbers for the rears are different even though they would easily fit...

now i am wondering if this is because they have different load ratings? if so which ones have the higher load rating?

thanks in advance...

p.s i did try to do a search and after skimming for page after page i decided this was easier...

I would imagine the F150 has a higher load rating simply because its a truck meant to be loaded vs the Bronco is more an SUV.

i thought the same thing, but did some broncos come with a tow package? and wouldnt that boost the load rating?

Just look up the shocks and compare the specs......or have a parts shop compare the specs.....then decide.

My Bronco weighs more than my 82 F250 did, at least according to the factory specs.

I'd think springs have a lot more to do with load carrying than the shocks - i.e. taller, stiffer springs would require a longer shock. If the shocks do not fit you'll have to remit.
