Ok guys, my father had his trans rebuilt with a three disc billet converter, modded valve body etc etc. At the same time he got stage one injectors (Swamps IIRC) and had a custom chip burnt. Everything seems to work well but he doesn't like how the truck seems to idle at 900-1000 rpms and tends to creep in traffic. So is this the result of the chip, the bigger converter...both? TIA!
Have you removed the chip to see if that makes any difference? If it does, then the problem is in the tunes. It is worth narrowing it down for the 3 minutes it takes to check this...

Thats if the PCM was also flashed. It don't run single shots that great.
Chet
I put those stage 1's in my Van and it will idle low enough to almost not need a pedal at a stop sign. If I romp on it hard and let off quick, it will Idle like its trying to catch its breath like a dragster engine but not that dramatic. Then it will idle nice and slow. I know this didn't help alot but just saying I have those injectors and it idles great.
how many miles has he put on the injectors??? it will take up to 200 miles give or take to get the air out of the system
He has polly put 500 miles or so on the new sticks.

No, I haven't disconnected the chip yet. (it is TS flip chip style by the by).
It is going back to the shop that installed the injectors tomorrow so I guess it will be retuned. I just didn't know if this was par for the course with the heavier converters. I have never driven a triple disc converter...I have the stock on in my truck and when my dodge's 48re was rebuilt it only got a billet single disc. Thanks guys!
