why NO BOOST!!!??????

thank you for opening my thread gentlemen.

Ok, here we go. I am absolutely stumped and frusterated over this.

My girl is a 94 7.3 with factory turbo. She has 203k miles. No matter what I do, i can not get over 6.5 psi out of my turbo!!

I have a brand new IP turned ALL THE WAY UP! Brand new Stage 1 injectors from DPS. The 2.5 pipe exiting out of the rear of the turbo. And a very impressive homemade 4" air intake. AND the turbo's wastegate is wired shut!!!!!

What is going on here? And I know the turbo works. I hear it spooling up all the time. Music to my ears. But Im at a loss here.

any ideas guys? Thank you in advance

Is it plugged too? Or just unhooked the rod and wire it?

I adjusted the WG to the fully closed position to get full boost. It went from 4 psi to 6.5 after doing this.

can it just be that I have a 2.5" downpipe vs the aftermarket 3"?

do you have a pyro? how hot does she get? i would have to guess if you have your pump maxed out for fuel and are not rollin like a freight train then there is an issue with not getting fuel? everyone says you can melt em down easily so i wonder if you are not getting enough fuel

My factory 93 with stock pump not turned up with the factory down pipe will make 8.5psi. Being that you said u maxed pump and adjusted wg and only get 6.5 makes me still wonder about uppipe/crossover leak

Thanks Ghetto. Ya man, Autometer Pyro and boost. After maxing out the IP, I noticed a very nice increase at the 1300/1500 rpm level. So I know she's getting fuel. Actually with all my mods, I think its a toss up between the max fuel and the 2.5" downpipe as far as the difference that I felt.

well, maybe I do have a leak somewhere, but I just cant hear it because her motor is so loud?

Just run your fingers around the seams when running (cold) might feel warm air or hear it
