i finally got the truck to stay running good enough to drive. i was supposed to visit family this weekend, but i didn't even make it out of town. it started running lean again (not severely lean, but enough where it made me want to turn around) and it keeps pulling the same two codes:
high idle and operator error during goose test.
i changed the TPS this morning, thinking it was bad because the truck didn't see that i did the goose test. no dice. thing is still pulling that code. the TPS looks like it's tied into the IAC via a diode.
ignore the electrical tape, i was inspecting the factory splice there for corrosion.
as you may be able to see in the pics, it's a little melted, which may be causing my acceleration issue that magically clears up after the computer compensates. i can't for the LIFE OF ME find one of these diodes in my town. nor can i find the value of it anywhere online to find a similar one and hook it in. i refuse to drive without one for obvious reasons. if anyone has any ideas of what else it could be or knows where i can get said diode, please let me know.

Reason: fte didn't like my photobucket username, had to make a new photobucket account
did a resistance test on the diode. tested at 12.6 ohms. i have not a single clue what the diode's resistance is supposed to be, but i backtested it and i got 12.6ohms again. diode's shorted. hitting up the junkyards monday.
