10.25" rear end question

I have searched this area (at least as far as it will let me filter) searched on-line and casnnot find a key piece of information. What is the pre-load for the differential bearings on a 10.25" rear? I have the pinion information, backlash etc. but no differential bearing other than cap torque.

BTW, I am not unfamiliar with rebuilding rear ends, but still prefer the trusty 9".

I'm watching this thread as I have to remove the yoke and install the plastic protector ring. I believe the previous owner did not take note of the nut's original location so I don't trust its location now and believe I need to start from scratch.

The only thing you need to be sure of is that you do not exceed the pinion bearing preload.

I finally found it. A 1991 service manual says after setting the backlash and getting a good pattern add .006" to each side to set the bearing preload.
