Hi All,
I recently purchased a 2004 Lairat with the 18" 5 split spoke wheels, and I was looking at putting a little bigger tire on it when I saw another truck with a little bigger tire on it and the same wheels (only chrome). When I went to check out the size if the tire I noticed that the chrome wheel was actually a plastic chrome wheel cover.
My question is has anyone ever just bought the cover, if so, where can I get them?
I have seen these covers for cheap wheels but never one that would snap onto the wheel you are talking about. I would suggest running a search on google for them about the best I can help with.

If these are full wheel covers (cover the entire wheel), the wheels aren't original to the Lariat. If this is the case, when you remove the covers, you'll be looking at painted steel wheels.
Do these covers have the Blue Oval on them? If not they are not genuine Ford, so who knows what the wheels came from.
My 2004 and 2011 Lariat's (2WD) came with 18" cast aluminum spoked wheels (squint at sig pic) with chromed plastic center caps with a Blue Oval.
One a the first thing some peeps do when the buy new/used trucks...is, they change the wheels.
A lot of the new Ford wheels have a chrome plastic "skin" which is made right on the wheel-it doesn't come off (or at least it's not SUPPOSED to).
If you can post or PM me your vin, I'll tell you which wheel was stock on your truck.

Ford likes to call this "Chrome-clad". It's more or less a skin that is epoxied to the wheel center.
thanks for the reply,
I know what is on my truck for wheels, and I was wondering if the wheel covers were available for purchase. I emailed The Wheel Warehouse Inc.and they sell the wheels with the chrome cladding however they do not sell the cladding by itself. I was just curious that is all.
My wheels have a few marks where the factory dummy's put the wheel weights on the out side of the wheel. Then after time with salt and the weight removing the clear coat, it starts corroding.
there is my venting!
thanks guys
