Hey all, wondering what the best settings are for my truck? Have it set on yow mode but someone told me I should adjust the shift points. Is this true? And advise greatly appreciated.
What is the programmer exactly? I know it's an Edge, but is it the Juice, Evolution what?
If it has shift on the fly capabilities I would get rid of it. Shift on the fly is actually mutually exclusive from programming our trucks. It's a novelty that does more harm then good.
It is the evolution cs. Bought it to help with fuel economy and it has boosted that a couple mpg. Just wondering if I can custom program to really get the most out of it.

How did you calculate that? I hope not using the computer. I wouldn't trust anything that is connected to what was changed by the tuner. That may not be the case in this instance, but most people do actually use just the computer for economy calculations. In some instances they are accurate, but not all. Fuel economy is not what I would buy a performance enhancement product for.

Well think of this. Would custom shoes fit you better then store bought or would store bought fit better?

I also have an Edge Evo cs that worked great on my 08 F150. Traded that the other day for a 2011 F250 with the 6.2 gas v8. Called Edge and the tech told me the programmer was compatible with the 6.2, but when I connected it to the truck, it went into fail safe mode. Took several tries, but luckily was able to return it to stock. Haven't had a chance to call Edge yet as it is the weekend. Is your truck the 6.2 or the diesel?

I would say he has a diesel considering he listed turbo under induction type. If he had put an a/m turbo on a gas he would sure need something other then an Edge to compensate for that turbo at least.

You're right. I hadn't noticed that. I was hoping to find out if there's anybody out there that has successfully put a cs on the 2011 6.2. According to their website and the tech I talked to on the phone, it should work, but it didn't for me. I'll be able to call Edge today and hopefully find something out.
I would be stunned if a single tuner would be programmed for all engine types
if it is, it's overbuilt for the duty it was intended to do.... i.e. it has enough storage for multiple programs and / or multiple tables that will not be used on one or the other...
ya know, that jack of all trades and master of NONE thingy
Now if it DID work on turbo diesels and NA gas motors, would it be optimized for either ?

I would say it's multiple programs, which isn't that far fetched. Think about it. The Triple Dog tuner had tunes for Chevy, Ford and Dodge diesel engines on a single tuner.
At the time that I was looking into all this stuff, engine generations ranged from the 7.3 to the 6.4, so 3 engine generations at least on the Ford end. Then you have whatever amount for the Dodge and Chevy end as well.
It is possible, might be a headache to get that to also work with the gas engines as well as diesel, but then I would imagine that they would only focus on one manufacture instead of 3 different ones.
