Yeah, you should always check that last maintenance function when something immediately goes wrong.
I have not checked the fuel pressure before. No before and after reading to work with.
The packing around the fuel pressure regulator plunger looks pretty bad. It could be causing the low fuel pressure.
I will finish the 50 cent mod tomorrow and think about further troubleshooting the fuel pressure. Might wait until I can get a new packing for the plunger.
I am finishing the 50 cent mod. Tried running it yesterday. Would start ok but sounded rought also white smoke out of exhaust.
I don't have a code reader (will be forced to buy one now) but I used to hear my injectors on my radio set to AM and between stations. They used to sound very strong. Now they all sound very weak and I can barely hear them.
ICM ?
I don't know that low fuel pressure would cause this problem.
I have ordered rebuild kit for FPR but tomorrow I leave for two weeks on my next work shift.
i used to have 70+psi with the first gen FRx, then it started to climb/spike. I took apart the regulator, wetsanded the plunger, and clipped a coil off the spring. Now its a steady 66psi, with a 2-4psi drop when towing/in the turbo....The injectors went from being "tapping" to a no tap, and couldnt be more stoked.
i have a "link" saved, unfortunetly im at a different computer. It involved the MAT sensor, which, when bad, made the truck blow white smoke. Believe its the sensor located at the bottom of the spider assy. try unplugging it, and give ur a shot..if so, its a delphi ts10098, i believe, but will check my "saved" ebay account, i have it there...yeah, thats the #..worth a shot
All my injectors sound weak and I am blowing white smoke. Sure can smell the unburned diesel out the exhaust.
Any suggestions?
Sounds like not enough fuel, especially since the UVCH is good. Do you get a solid fuel flow from the fuel bowl drain with KOEO? If you have air, might as well blow back thru the lines to the tank. I know the Hutch/Harpoon are fresh, but if it isn't getting fuel it just makes sense to do the routine troubleshooting, IMO.
