Don't You hate It ...
When you do a lot of work and think everything is great and another unrelated problem pops up.
I did the Harpoon mod, the Hutch mod and the HPX mod and the truck was running great.
Great until it practically quit on the freeway (such as we have up here) and I had to get towed home.
Bummer.
Now I am going to do the 50 cent mod because it sounds exactly like it is running on only one side and the UVCH is loose.
I will have the valve covers off and report what I find asap.

Good Luck.
I'm thinking about doing mine just for the hell of it, since I have a 1,700 mile trip coming up in a couple weeks. I'm gonna tighten down the injectors and rockers while I'm in there. Just really don't want to get stranded that far from home.

If there wasn't a loose connector and the entire bank went down one bad solenoid can do that. While the valve cover is off is a great time to ohm out the individual solenoids, as well as the GPs.
You could do this before pulling the VC.

That's kind of the idea behind most of these mods. Do them before you need them, not after. Sure does make those long trips a lot less worrisome.

Got the drivers side valve cover off and could find nothing wrong. I have not ophmed out the wiring yet but will.
Put a gauge on the fuel bowl and found zero pressure!!! KOEO
Will check tomorrow to see if the pump is making any sound and if it is getting power.
It is a bit cold outside. I could not get the truck into the shop so I am working in the snow.

did you do a DIY Hutch mod or ordered a kit? Is there a prepump filter installed?

With 0 pressure at bowl, and no prepump filter, i'd say you sucked up some crap and loaded up the pump

I appreciate your point but know that that tank was clean two days ago and I only put clean fuel in it.
There ain't no way I sucked up any crap.
I will pull the filter to check in the fuel bowl tomorrow.
It is beer thirty right now and I am taking it easy.

I got an adapter and checked fuel pressure at the bowl upper fitting.
Pressure went to 40, dropped to 20 and then dropped to zero.
I am going to replace the fuel pump as my next step.

Installed new electric pump
KOEO Test
Fuel pressure goes to 40 psi and stays there until the pump times out.
Looks like the regulator on the fuel bowl is weak.
I wonder if I can shim the spring?

How soon after the in tank mods did this happen? There's always a chance something got messed up inside the tank if it happened right away. If that's the case, pull the hose off the back of the fuel pump and stick a short hose into a can of diesel and onto the pump and check the pressure again.
Otherwise, go ahead and try shimming the spring.

I tried to shim up the spring in the pressure regulator and the pressure came up to 45.
I starts and runs sort of ok. Has a low speed miss.
I havn't taken it for a drive yet.
Maybe tomorrow.
