cdr removal

Hi folks,

New to the site. Replacing glow plug relay and cleaning cdr on my 89 7.3 idi. Having trouble removing the hose clamp. Its hard to get to and I'm probably not using the right tool. Anyone who has already done this please help!! I would greatly appreciate any insight.

My hose clamp wasn't very tight, I just pulled it out. Doing it on a cold engine you risk breaking the hose(can be hard to replace) doing it on a warm engine the rubber will be looser, but then burning yourself is a possibility.

Thought about just trying to pull it off but a lot of the rubber on the engine is real brittle. There is what feels like some sort of bolt on the clamp but i can't see it.

I believe if there is a bolt on the clam it's not the original. These are the factory style clamps:

That's the clamp that was on there. I got the cdr off at the expense of the hose. hose is still attached to top of motor. Cleaning off the area now and will then tackle removal of hose. CDR on my engine is located behinde air intake and in front of gpr

What kind of set up you got going there 91DD? I've never seen a CDR there.

I put it like that, tube goes down into exhaust. Did the hose break when you pulled it?

Edit: I wouldnt pull the hose out unless it broke. If you try and get the grommet part out it's almost a garenteed break
