I think it's one solid peice ? Someone else will know for sure tho. That's why earlier I said "(can be hard to replace)" because finding that grommet/hose is difficult

Yeah, it looks like I'm gonna have to "fabricate" something. I can see now I'm going to have to do some mods to my truck once I get it fundamentally sound again. What started out as simply a work truck has now turned into a work toy.

No, don't cut that, that is the proper factory piece. If you can, try to figure out a way to use that plastic assembly. Maybe get a piece of heater hose and connect it to the CDR and then join the heater hose to the plastic piece. Whatever you do dont take that piece out of the valley pan, it is hell trying to rig something else there, trust me, I know.

Usually you need to heat up that area with a torch and then take it off when its hot and soft.

X2 I had to find a grommet that fit then jam peice of heater hose in there. Didn't leak but after 15,000 miles the hose wasn't very happy. Felt like chewed bubble gum(soft)

Thanks for the warning. After studying what I have left I think cdr will fit ok on that piece. the hose connecting to the bottom of the filter assy has been detached probably since i bought the truck 2.5 yrs ago. CDR is soaking right now & will go back on in the morning. Now i gotta study the gpr wiring to make sure i get that right, then new glow plugs (motorcraft) then new gp wiring harness, then...

BTW, I greatly appreciate the help guys. It has definitely changed my mind from wanting to sell the truck to - hey, I probably got another 100,000 miles left in this thing
