A five gallon home depot bucket fits rite under drain on my 06 f350 never had problems with splash cause there is only 1 inch of space and holds all there oil in one shot, plus when u go to get rid of oil at recycler pop off lid pour carefully and your done in 45 seconds, my normal drain pan for other cars just seems to make more trouble than it's worth, but great for 5-8 qts not 13-15

I've been using that same plastic 15 quart drain/catch pan from Wallyworld for years. It catches all the oil without a problem, make sure vent is open during filling. If it's very windy, I add a slip on rubber hose to the fumoto valve nipple so it doesn't blow around. I then pour the oil into a used Detroit Diesel 5 gallon oil bucket with a lid. It has a pop up vent to make it easy to pour into a recycling station tank. Go by any large truck or marine service shop, most have plenty of new/empty 5 gallon oil buckets they will give you.

Now that I have a fumoto, it will be easier now. I use milk jugs, the clear ones. The recycling collectors say they will only take the oil "in milk jugs". I can't send it to them in the oil cans.

I dont use any oil drain pan either. I have the fumoto valve with nipple. I always keep the empty oil jugs from my previous oil change. I then fill the jugs one by one till the engine is fully drained. I put the caps back on the jugs and drive to the local disposal place. That way I have no pan to clean up and I have to put the oil into the jugs anyways to dispose of it and I just think I would make a mess trying to drain the oil pan into jugs after I do the oil change.

Thumbs up And the winner is...

All great ideas guys, and I am glad that posted here. I had ordered one of the Fumoto valves when I saw that someone had one on their signature. I wasn't real sure of all the uses but the one that did stand out was the fact that I would only need a wrench once. I had not even thought about the fact that I wouldn't need a pan if I attach a hose to it.

So I am going with the milk jugs on this run, I asked my girlfriend to save me about five of them which shouldn't take but a week with her two teenage sons... . Then the next time I should have the gallon jugs from the change of oil this time.

Shouldn't have to get anything real fancy on the hose should I and just from a place like Advance Auto Parts for it?

Nope just get a regular rubber hose that fits snugly on the nipple of the fumoto valve

Coming in from the front is easier I think, no running board to get whacked with.
Exctly, there's lots of room under a stock height truck. The lift guys just have a little more room. And I second the idea of coming in from the front/under the bumper to get to the drain plug. The only time I slide under the running boards is when I'm headed to the HFCM to swap out primary fuel filters.

I use them whenever I don't feel like putting my car on jack stands. The rubber feet fell off quickly, but they didn't make much of an improvement on traction anyway, so no real problem. Very durable. I'm pleased.
