found out my ipr was the problem. once truck is started every vital sign looks good duty cycle is 23% and idles hot between 500 and 600psi and goes over 2000 when you give it gas at an idle. if you shut the truck off and start it imediately back up when it's hot it fires right up but if you let it sit for 15 or 20 min it's an extremely long start up, but once again when it fires up all numbers look good. icp sensor for the long start up only shows like 360psi but eventually starts. is it possible i have stuff in the ipr i just installed? when i first installed the new ipr it ran like a champ and was having no problems it seemed
im stumped and seriously tired of reading and just want this thing to run properly. throws no codes
i appreciate all the feedback yall are very helpful and im glad to be apart of this site.
I have a 2005 F-350 as well. @ 81K miles I started having the same issue. A pressure check identified the problem as the STC fitting on the HPOP. With labor and new part(s) it cost me $899.99. I wish repairs in shops were not in factors of $1000.00 a pop....ugh! $899.99 isn't 1K but they cut me a break because the shop (not a Ford Dealer) was having difficulty finding the problem. They cut me a break on some labor time. It was going to be about $950.00.
After doing some research here and making a recommendation to them about the pressure check, they found it. Ford shows 7+ hours labor required.

What's their labor rate. The SCT fitting kit only cost about 60$. They charged u 850$ labor.
OMG !!!!! I'm glad I do my own work on my truck. No way I could or would pay that kinda money.
Well, the kit cost a bit more than that. It wasn't a Ford dealer that did the repair, but the gaarage had to get the part from Ford and Ford wasn't nice about the price they had them for.
I probably coud have done the work myself but I was leaving for Acadia National park in a day and a half. There was no way I was going to be able to get in there and do it myself in that amount of time.
The shop did a good job and took care of a couple of other small issues as well. I would have liked to have paid less but the work is guarranteed, this shop does a lot of work for me and I trust them. They haven't let me down yet.
I trust you cheezit! I was told it would have been more if they needed to pull the cab. But lucky for me, Brandon my mechanic weighs about 115 in winter clothes. He didn't have a bad time of it he tells me!
I totally agree that 850 is a fair price for an STC fitting change. It's pretty labor intensive and a lot of stuff to remove and replace. I know a dealership usually charges about twice that.
