So, I got in a bind and ordered a windshield gasket for my 1954 from LMC Truck. What arrived today looks different from anything I have used in the past. Below are a few photos and a drawing:
The ones I have used in the past all had 2 crevices in the rubber (one groove for the glass and one groove for the steel window flange). This one has only one groove for the glass and 3 rubber "fingers" on the opposite side. Do I even have the right gasket? I have always used the draw cord method of installation but this gasket appears that you insert the glass in the groove and then press fit it thru the opening. Any thoughts? Has anyone used this type of gasket?
