well that time of year has come around to West Central ohio. the truck stop has winter fuel now and the weather turned cold, and wet as of the past few days. so i decided to pull the 88 in the shop last night and did my cold weather service.
changed the oil
greased the front end and u joints,
new air filter changed fuel filter,
checked the sca's and hoses,
checked all my fluids in the axles, t case and trans,
cleaned all the battery connections and load tested the batteries, they were a touch weak, bout 800 cca but im not too worried about it just yet.
all that with my 8 brand new motorcraft gp's i should be good to go when winter starts to blow snow up our skirt. .
now all i need is to find a unimount plow mount and get a plow hung on her
heck ya man make sure you have no air leeks any where i had hell with those last winter haha thats what im trying to do before winter gets here ya it kinda sucks but o well
The service stations around here switch over to winter blend on Nov. 1st, so i run Stanadyne's "lubricity formula" at each fill-up over the winter months.
What did their voltage drop down to when they were load tested?
oh hell i cant remember now that was like two days ago..lol ill prolly end up throwing two new interstates in it before the weather gets real cold, especially if i hang a plow on it.

yea there pretty much all switched over around here, i usually run regular powerservice at every fill up
how many places are there on this truck i can hit with the grease gun? i am unfamiliar with the locations..
on mine theres a grease point at every tie rod end, one on each upper and lower kingpin, and i have serviceable u joints in the drive shafts so one on each u joint. keep in mind mines a 4x4 with a d60 front axle so there may be more or less on other trucks
