I have the LCD screen but most every auto these days already has a 7 digit display, looks like this:
072500.8
Don't they all start with zero?
Yup, I've seen that kind of odometer before, but I'm talking specifically about the Ford implementation of the VFD. And not only on F-series, Fusions and stuff have the same gauge cluster.
The left side is a 2-line character VFD, only the right side is like a 32x32 graphic display area for the RTT icons.
My question of curiosity is, how can it display '-34C' and still fit a 7 digit odometer reading on there? It will fit, but there will be no spaces between the temperature and the odometer. The manual shows that the temperature is supposed to be on its own 'page' (like the fuel economy and distance to empty, for example) ... so I was wondering if the temp display will become its own page later on when the odometer adds up. Or maybe it will nudge to the right and eliminate the space between the odometer value and the units ('km') which is acceptable and readable. Was wondering if someone else had passed the 100,000 mark, whether miles or kilometres regardless, and seen what happens.
Job 2 built in March of 2011. Took delivery on 4/21/11 (Earth Day). Have 10,700 miles so far, lots of towing. My truck has not seen the dealership since I took delivery. I've done both oil changes so far and that's it. I can't even find even a small, niggling issue to take it in for warranty work!
Man, some of you must live in your trucks! I got mine April 4/11 just lost my basic warranty at 60,000 km. It's been a good truck, I hope the next 400,000 km are just as good...
Just hit 12 months, close to 60,000 miles, approximately 3300 gallons of diesel, 130 quarts of Rotella, three fuel filter sets, two sets of windshield wipers, still on the original set of tires and nary an issue.
