Ordering Skid plates
Hi there, Ive got an 08 XLT 4X4 Scab and want to order skid plates. I plan on ordering them from Tascaparts online. Are those the same that come on the FX4s? They offer a Gas Tank, Engine and Transfer case skid plate.
I do some offroading for hunting, camping and fishing and will soon be getting out to some beaches, but no extreme highspeed stuff or rock crawling. I just wanted some added protection/insurance. I am also assuming they are simple to bolt on.
Any other suggestions? Thanks

I got all three on my 07. I drove over a small boulder on a rainy and muddy trails over the labor weekend. It scraped my underneath halfway length. I found the engine and transfer case skid all bent.
I went over to friend's place with welding equipment. We took both skids off, it is quite easy. Just four bolts to remove on each skid. Lucky was able to fix the bent into it's place (not perfect). Had a big sigh of breathe afterward.
As for the gas tank skid, I'm not sure. Probably easy enough.
Lesson learned, gotta level my truck on my next mod. 2" on front end would be sufficient.
