Well that is why i went with a ZF in place of the e40d. My only concern now is the budget clutch i installed, i can see the writing on the wall! Hey thanks Mhammer 21 it is a slow process but i am lovin every minute of it. I thought nothing could beat my old 12 valve but i can already see some serious power potential out of my 7.3. And i freakin love how it sounds!

The only thing the intercooler is flowing is air, cool air in, hot out. It's not hooked to the cooling system at all.

Yeap Darin is correct and actually it should be named just postcooler, and not intercooler because its not between two coolers.
And yes its like another radiator but flowing AIR.

Lol D'oh! My newb side is showing.
Thanks for the correction fellas.
Its funny how many threads ive read about installing them yet never read nor cared about what it actually does
I always figured as long as I hook er up right and she makes EGTs go down... thats a good thing!

Sorry for the terrible information.
Oh and did you know the turbo is what cycles the coolant faster as we get on it!

No big deal on the mistake Alex. We all make them, one way or another.

just a question

Has anyone ran a Banks Technicooler? Is it quite a bit more effective than using a 7.3 stock powerstroke intercooler? I'll pay the money if it's a noticable upgrade. Thanks.

No, the 94-97 powerstroke comes without an intercooler. I know the 99 andd newer came with an intercooler which was no doubt a needed upgrade.

Won't installing an intercooler alone give you about 5% more power?
