2012 Escape thumping at 70mph
Just bought 2012 Escape XLT. 200 miles on it. Nice vehicle but one concern. At 70mph there is a noise and thumping that you can feel in the floorboards under your feet in the driver and front passenger seat. It seems that if you turn the steering wheel slightly to the right to change lanes for instance, it gets worse. Sounds like "bdbdbdbdbdbdbdb". Don't feel it in steering wheel or brake pedal, just can hear the sound and feel it in your feet. Of course two salesmen didn't hear or feel a thing, blamed it on the road.
The sound starts about 70mph and fades away at 72mph and around 75mph can't really feel or hear it anymore. Tight corners in parking lots, city traffic, no noise. Only at 70mph.
