Can't find MY2011, should I order a MY2012?

MY2011 rebates are incredible in my part of the country right now. ~$6k thru Ford Credit. However, no one can find the truck I want. I've got 3 dealers searching for me as we speak. I may need to order a MY2012 but the rebates have yet to be published and I'm pretty sure they won't come even close to MY2011 trucks AND I would need to wait for XX months before delivery. Here's what I am looking for:

2011 XLT, 4x4, SCAB, 3.5L EB, XLT Conv, XLT Chrome, XLT Plus, Trailer Tow, Rearview Camera....BLACK (WHITE is OK too).

Why is it so hard? I will drive 500 miles out of my way to find this truck if I have to. Can anyone help?

If we knew what part of the country you're in we may be able to help.

I just saw at my dealer 4 2011 XLT, 4x4, 3.5L EB, XLT Conv, XLT Chrome, XLT Plus, Trailer Tow with Rearview Camera. Isn't it amazing. I can remember all of that but I can't remember if any of them were SCAB nor do I remember the colors.

A few things that you should consider here:

(1) there are higher rebates on the 2011's for a reason (of course). The main reason is that they really are worth less because you are essentially buying a one year older truck if you get a MY2011. It will be reflected in the selling price down the road. Now, if you keep it for 15 years, it probably won't make a difference, but if you sell/trade in say 5-8 years, you'll probably get those $3K back.
(2) the 2012's do offer a few upgrades: one is the 36gal fuel tank on all 4x4 EB's, the other one is hill start assist, which could come in handy as I see you ordering the trailer tow package.

BTW, what are you towing? Why not go for the max trailer tow package? (if it's a small utility trailer it won't matter, but for a TT ...)

Sorry. I live in central IL. I tow a 5500 lb boat, 1-2 hours each way. My 5.4L does just just fine but it could be better so that's why the EB is so appealing. Hey shortride, please forward the dealer with 4 matching trucks so I can search their inventory.

Keep searching, there has to be a few out there just sitting in a lot waiting for you! Even if you find one 500-600 miles away i would just make a weekend trip out of it. If you can save that much on getting a leftover 2011 then it would be worth the drive.
