460 gettin gutless

I have a 1992 f250 460 4x4, it seems to be runnin rough, the guy i bought it from wasnt to smart, he said the engine was blown, but all compression tests show ok, but i know a compression test doesnt show a whole lot, and it isnt knockin at all, just runnin a little rough, he says it burned oil too, but it doesnt smoke, or even smell like it. I am just wondering if it could be bad sparkplug wires, or even plugs, i would like some suggestions thanks

460 gettin gutless

I have had a few 460s. How many miles on the motor? has any work been done? All my 460's have needed timing chains and gears at a an early stage. 85 F250 4X4 with 50,000 klm. When I changed chain and gears I could almost touch the chain together. they used nylon gears and they wore fairly quick. installed Double row chain and gears and advanced the timinig 3 degrees. they all ran great after that. Even my 87 F350 crew cad with 220,000klm
