Cam timing!!
What is the difference between seat-to-seat timing and @.050 timing? What advantages does it have(each one) or is there a differnce? I have noticed durations are lower on @.050 than advertised duration. Why is that? Please help I am confused!!!

Cam timing!!
Seat to seat timing has variables in it. Where as .050 timing is a consistant. Meaning that at .050 lift on the cam lobe is where they are measuring the lift and duration. On Hyd cams there is a small amount of cushion in the lifters themselves due to the plunger that slides in it. So that .050 is actually being used to the slack in the lifters. You normally don't use seat to seat when you use a degree wheel for checking your cam ceterline.
