I have a 1979 F-150 4wd with 400 and cruise. I am looking to replace my power brake booster. The number on my brake pedal is D7TA MA. My pickup's VIN is F14SRDG3550. I have been reading about the dual diaphragm booster upgrade from an F-350. Is this a good upgrade? Should I just save the money and do a hydroboost upgrade later? If the F-350 booster provides a lot better braking the F-150 booster, I would definitely be interested. I think I would need the 50-3311 booster by A1Cardone. Can anyone confirm if this is correct for me? Just looking for some opinions. Thanks guys!
I put a F-350 dual diaphragm booster in my '79 F-250, to be honest I didn't really notice much of a difference even with it's bigger master cylinder bore. I'd say if your old booster is junk and your master is leaking go for it, but to just change it thinking it's going to make some huge difference then I'd pass. If you order one get it for a '79 F-350 for your truck. I did have to modify the mounting brackets, change the dust shield back from the old one and move the lines to the other side of the master cylinder but it was a easy swap.

That's my personal experience as well, it wasn't the quantum leap in braking power i thought it would be, if you're doing the hydroboost upgrade in the near future anyways, i'd just skip the dual diaphragm booster "upgrade", my 2 cents.
