4x4 light question

4x4 light question
Today i changed my transfer case oil on my 95 f150 and when i finished, i took it for a spin in 4 wheel drive to get the oil flowing so i could check if it was still full. When i took it out of 4 wheel drive, the light still stayed on. I know that the front wheels are not locked in and the shifter is where it should be. Any ideas?

yeah,if you don't use it much the switch down there doesn't like to work right.
hop under there and clean up the connector.
take the grease gun with ya and smother the shift linkage too while your at it.this will keep her shifting nice and smooth for ya.

How do i clean the connector? I found one connection that goes in the transmission right where the shift linkage goes in that connects the transmission and transfer case.

I think that's a BW1356 transfer case, and the switch for the 4x4 light is on the drivers side of the transfer case. If you unhook the wires to it (2 wire connector), the light should go out. The switch could be stuck, tapping on it or swtching back and forth from 2wd to 4wd might jar it loose.
