Ok I have a 2000 Ford Excursion, Limited, with the 6.8L V10, and I want to personalize it a bit. I was thinking about putting a 3-inch body lift on it, but before I do that I need to know a few things first...
1) How much will it cost to raise it, if i take it to someone to install it (just need a rough estimate)
2) I have a 2004 Homestead Rv, that weighs around 7,200lbs...willl the body lift effect my towing, and if so what can I do to fix it?
A body lift is only going to raise you center of gravity making your already soft and mushy stock suspension MORE unstable towing or otherwise. As others have stated, swap the springs.
So If I do swap out the springs, would I be able to do it on my own or would i have to take it in to do it, and would i still be able to pull my trailer?
Click on 'search', then 'advanced search', type in 'V/B spring swap' in keywords, scroll down and highlight in the box "search in Forum" to 'Excursion, King of the SUV's'. Click on Search now. Spend the next couple of hours reading many interesting posts. Here's a sample:

That really depends on your mechanical ability. It's not that bad of a job though. And yes, you can still tow with that spring swap... and then some.
