I'm pretty sure that it can handle more than that, but from an oil life perspective much more than a couple incomplete warmup cycles can have detrimental effects. Moisture can build up in the oil and encourage corrosion, as well as other things like that.
Currently coming up on 20,000 miles. Mine is a daily driver, many short trips with an occasional longer one. Usually get maybe 1 regen per tank, just got another change oil soon message, averaging about 7000 to 7500 miles between messages. I use the severe duty schedule mainly due to the higher idle times it registers. So far, keeping my fingers crossed, no issues that I am aware of.
I use motorcraft additive in each tank. I use Marvel Mystery oil in my tractor, i was wondering if I should start using it in my 6.7 to help with lubrication considering the current issues. But I have been afraid if something happens they might try to blame it on that.

I do not believe MMO is certified for use in ULSD...meaning it could have lots of sulfur and cause DPF problems....stay away from this stuff!
Your Motorcraft additive should improve lubricity; there should be no need for more additive!

Your right, just went to the website and found it. Thanks.
Note for Diesel Fuel Users - This diesel fuel additive does not comply with federal low sulfur content requirements for use in model 2007 and newer diesel motor vehicles.
I'm the king of short trips. I run down the street and feed the horses, maybe a stop by the gas station for big drink, swing by the lumber yard for supplies, stop by the plumbing supply house, stop by Job 1, then run over and check on job 2, pick up the skid loader and swing by the next job, After school, pick my kids up and chase them to their after school lesson/activities and on and on.
I've owned 4 Diesel Superduties. A lot of miles over the last 12 years. The only real problem I can point a finger at, is that I seem to go thru a lot of glow plugs.
I replaced 4 of them in 2006. In talking with the dealer service manager, I asked him one trip in to just change all of them in the same bank while he had it open. It was $250 to get the truck into the service bay and expose the glow plugs , but it was only $25 per plug for parts. Ecconomically it seems the small incremental cost to just change all of them while under the hood. He said he has so few problems with them, that he only stocks 2 plugs in his parts deptment. He would have to order in extra plugs, just to do all four. So in my mind, if they are so stable for most drivers and I go thru so many, it must be my short trips.
Oil analysis has never showed any problems from all my short trips.
During the week most of my trips are 4-5 mikes usually 5-6 times per day. On the weekend if I'm lucky I get to do a bit more but still a lot of short trips all in all. I do get cleaning exhaust filter message more frequently but the cleaning only seems to run for 5 minutes or so at a time.
I do min two short trips everyday. Only 10k miles though. I have a hard time imagining it will be a major issue so long as I get out for a good run on the weekends. Also, tons of work trucks run around making short trips all the time and I never hear of folks complaining about issues related to that, although I have never really asked either. Put it this way, I bought the truck to be a DD and I have no intention to trade it on fear of short trips so myself and a few others will be good gunea pigs for the rest of you. Heck, I bought the truck because I heard diesels take abuse better than most gas engines. That all being said, I do try to avoid extended idling, particularly when cold.
